He knew where "the gift" came from. Bernie Worrell is love & unselfishness personified. He just gave and gave and gave. The way he treated people is how I want to treat people.

I Can't believe this!!I was Fearing this. Just like Bobby Womack never got2play his last set. After hearing of what happened recently w/ his health n was shocked he was still billed2play in a w/k or2. I Grew up on Pfunk. Bernie was such a nice guy. Running into him In Seattle was becoming regular at a time. We both talked about doin some exp/avante-garde stuff. I was shocked he wanted to do sum wild synths over couple my trax I sent. Him, like a lot of sick artists were idols&taught me young you didn't need to play 4/4 pop bs. He was another master lost in 2016. I can't express the sadness&condolences. Than yesterday SF punker Barker died.Sun also.2016 won't stop stealing my friends&legends. Visit me in a dream Bernie!!RIp...overdose the Katatonic

Dr. Worrell, you inspired me before I even knew who you were or what instrument you played. I was trying to learn Flashlight on the electric bass and wasn't figuring it out. I went to the micromoog and thought "I'm closer, but nah that can't be a synth." I channel your approach every time I turn on my minimoog or any other synth. Thanks for defining for me what funk is and for making it so fun. I will always remember you! Deepest condolences to your loved ones. -EJK

from one fractal God hailing from the realm of masters of sound to another I say thank you for laying the pavement and foundation on which I fly throughout the universe upon the tip of sound waves I create. your vision has inspired billions of future creators and will continue to do so for as long as there are those of us alive remembering the work you gave us.
