I met you and your wife during the last reunion tour with P-funk. I won't go into the whole story of that meeting. I did walk away knowing you were a TRUE musician who was a genius not fully recognized, and you were ok with that..you just kept playing and creating. No one is like you Bernie. At 16 I sat in a room with a friend of the band while they waited to perform at the Twenty Grand in Detroit, MI; I was in awe. Then we partied till the night away.

In what has been the year from Hell for music lovers, yet another musical hero of mine has been taken in Bernie Worrell; some of the greatest nights of my life were seeing him with P-Funk going back many decades. RIP and thank you to a TRUE musical genius in a world where the word genius is thrown around too easily to the point that the word is cheapened.
