To the family and close friends of Bernie Worrell, my sincere condolences. I was a teenager when the MotherShip Connection and Parliament came out. I remember the house parties where we would be entranced by P-Funk. The music was refreshing and very powerful. Parliament got me up dancing all of the time. The music will never die!!! RIP Bernie! And Rest in the Funk!

I remember the very first time we met and so much in between till the last time we hugged just a few months ago. We had quality time and I love you. Bernie, you gave us Life. Thank You.

Me and my Bobby Jo Powell would go to every show in the DFW area in the 70's. Some were on school nights enjoyed it very much. I saw the Mothership in 76. Blew our minds. RIP innovator.

You have gave us many years of great music, the Funk, the Soul and everything else you have done and Amazing Keyboardist. I am adding your name to our list to "Memory of Concert" which will be honoring the Musicians whom gave us GREAT MUSIC over the years whom went to Heaven. We will miss you until we meet again..

I've been a lifelong fan of the Funk. It was an honor being in the presence of Greatness @ the Webster Hall benefit show. I won't ever forget the look that came over your face when you sat at the keyboards. You smiled from ear to ear and just lit up! You will be missed greatly but what an amazing band you now join in Heaven! May you always be blessed with the Funk!

I've been a huge fan since I was given the Maggot Brain & Free Your Mind albums in 1972. Became a life long fan & even shared the same stage with the good Dr. at Eddie Hazel's send off gig at S.O.B's in NYC. As Jimi said..."fly on my sweet angel" Reside In Paradise sir.

Godspeed you on your journey, Mr. Bernie. You left an indelible mark on planet earth and now you're going to leave an even bigger mark in Heaven. I can hear you playing with the angels now. The late Brian Keenan, Chambers Bros drummer was my BF back in the day. I am certain he was amongst those welcoming his brother in funk,Bernie over and onto that Heavenly Stage.
